Alcatel-Lucent Wins INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine's 2007 Product of the Year Award

Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) announced that Technology Marketing Corporation’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine selected its OmniAccess 3500 Nonstop Laptop Guardian for a 2007 Product of the Year Award.

The OmniAccess 3500 Nonstop Laptop Guardian (NLG) is a security system on a CDMA or HSDPA 3G card which has been developed to enable provisioning of remote security and to manage, monitor and locate mobile computers. This helps protect sensitive data in them if they are lost or stolen.

The NLG is provided with a separate processor, power supply and operating system and it is able to access broadband networks enabling enterprises to manage laptops where ever they are and at any time. Alcatel-Lucent clarified that access to the computers is possible even when it is switched off.

“The OmniAccess 3500 Nonstop Laptop Guardian is truly an innovative solution that has come along at the right time. Regularly, reports of loss or stolen laptops holding critical data are heard around the world,” said Dor Skuler (News - Alert), Alcatel- Lucent’s enterprise mobile security solutions general manager.

“The OmniAccess 3500 NLG, designed for CDMA, GSM and 3G networks, delivers protection as enterprises become more mobile and dynamic in the way their users share knowledge and create work styles. We are excited to be recognized as an industry innovator.”
