LiveOps Now Has Former Yahoo! Vice President Amongst its Ranks

LiveOps (News - Alert) has revealed that Eckart Walther is the new Senior Vice President of LiveOps Marketplace. He will be handing all strategy decisions around virtual work in LiveOps, and will be reporting to the CEO, Maynard Webb.

"We're thrilled that Eckart has joined LiveOps. LiveOps is at the forefront of a global trend around the virtualization of work, enabled by the power of the Internet," said Maynard Webb, CEO of LiveOps. "Similarly to how eBay (News - Alert) transformed the world of commerce, LiveOps is revolutionizing the world of work by bridging tomorrow's workforce with today's companies. Given Eckart's background in Internet technologies and communities, he will be a valuable asset in helping us realize our vision."

Walther was previously the head of products for Yahoo! Search. His responsibilities covered Web, multi-media and social search products. In his time with Yahoo! he helped the search business grow substantially, spearheaded Yahoo!’s (News - Alert) social search strategy, including Yahoo! Answers and was fundamental in the acquisition of Del.icio.us.

Apart from Yahoo!, Walther has also been part of key personnel of the Tellme (News - Alert) and Netscape teams, and worked in technical research with Stanford University and General Electric.

"LiveOps has already demonstrated how work will be virtualized by building the largest virtual call center in the world," said Eckart Walther, senior vice president of LiveOps Marketplace. "With nearly 4,000 applicants every week looking to join our independent agent community, we are well on our way to creating a global virtual workforce of massive scale. I am thrilled to join LiveOps at such an exciting time."
