Wireless Builders Offers Active RFID Tags

Wireless Builders is offering Active RFID tags enabling companies to accurately locate and track any asset or person. Utilizing standard Wi-Fi networks, the small, battery powered tags can track high-value assets and people in real-time in any environment.

Rich Schrock, vice president of Professional Services for Wireless Builders believes this unique technology will extend a company’s existing wireless networks' capability to a new application, helping to drive efficiency and productivity.

Schrock said in a statement that their company is excited to offer this product to their customers to help drive down the total cost of ownership for their wireless networks and increase their Return-on-Investment. He also informed that their company is constantly looking for new and innovative ways for their customers to utilize their existing network.

Wireless Builders’ active RFID uses a replaceable four-year battery and comes with multiple reader options. The tags feature a call button, which allows them to define events according to buttons pushed on the tag. This in turn enables advanced functionality such as emergency reporting or parts replenishment.

The company further explains that the Active Tags differ from regular RFID tags in that they come with their own power source that can transmit a signal much stronger and farther than traditional RFID tags. Currently, Active tags are being integrated into new US passports.

Wireless Builders specializes in the design and implementation of RFID and wireless networks in office buildings, warehouses, schools, hospitals and other venues. Wireless Builders’ professionals are certified Netware engineers equipped with the required knowledge of operating systems and protocols to design superior systems.
