ACCESS, Bytemobile Partner on Mobile Solutions
By Raju Shanbhag TMCnet Contributing Editor
Web browsing on mobiles will now be fast and full. ACCESS Co., Ltd., and Bytemobile have entered into a global partnership to co-develop and market solutions expected to significantly enhance the Web browsing experience for mobile devices. Under this partnership, both the companies will work together to integrate Bytemobile's embedded browser optimization (EBO) technology with the award-winning ACCESS NetFront Browser and NetFront Mobile Client Suite (NMCS).
With this solution, the users of smartphones and feature phones can look forward to faster full Internet page downloads. Also, most wireless networks can look forward to improve download performance by up to 4x over existing technologies. The optimized solution will reduce data volumes and improve bandwidth efficiencies, thereby benefiting network operators, as well as their customers. Also, it enhances the overall browsing experience for end users.
Customers of each company will get optimized ACCESS browsers integrated with Bytemobile's Unison(TM) Optimization Services Node (OSN) Monaco Edition. This combination provides both client-server and server-based optimization of Web browsing on mobile handsets.
The Bytemobile has a customer base of more than 75 carriers in over 45 countries. Its ACCESS NetFront Browser offers total Internet browsing from more than 1,151 commercial devices, including PDAs and smartphones. Currently, the company has more than 396 million NetFront Browser deployments around the world. According to Adrian Hall, vice president of marketing and business development of Bytemobile, consumers are demanding open Internet access on handsets all over the world.
ACCESS launched its ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) Global Partner Program on February 12, 2007 and named Bytemobile as a charter member. This program aims to create an ecosystem of world-class partners, unraveling the possibilities of the digital life generation by driving development and adoption of new mobile converged technologies and solutions.
