Perlico Enters Mobile Market.

Ireland-based Perlico has finally made its way into the mobile communication market, signing a reseller partnership agreement with 3 Mobile, the country’s leading cell phone operator.  The new service offering may see the company expand its low cost business and marketing propositions into the wireless communications market.

For Perlico, the partnership agreement is a strategic move. Perlico has a vast network of fixed-line connections, but it lacked in advanced technology to keep its customers curious and happy. 3 Mobile, on the other hand, is Ireland’s most technically advanced cellular phone network, offering a range of wireless services, like mobile TV, music downloads and wireless Internet.  Recently 3 Network launched a mobile broadband service with download speeds of 3.6 MB per second.

Reselling 3’s mobile services, Perlico may able to retain its existing consumers and widen its consumer base further. The agreement brings a string of services to Perlico’s consumers, including fixed-line voice, fixed-line broadband, mobile communications packages, as well as 3’s market-leading mobile broadband services.

In a release, Mark Cleary, Perlico’s COO, said, “We are delighted to enter into this agreement with 3.  The partnership represents another step in the expansion and development of our service offering.  We are the first operator in Ireland to offer customers a complete telecoms solution and we will continue to generate competition in the Irish market.”

Perlico says it will make best use of the deal as it has already got strong consumer base as well as reliable infrastructure.

Damien Gallagher, Head of Business and New Initiatives at 3, said, “We are looking forward to developing this relationship with Perlico.  Both companies have similar priorities when it comes to Irish consumers: both offer great value and savings and generate healthy competition in the Irish telecommunications market. This relationship will deliver new cost effective revenue streams for 3 and Perlico and is a testament to our determination to use innovative and cost effective business opportunities for new business development in the Irish market.”

Under the terms of the agreement, 3’s products and services will be sold via the Internet and over the phone by Perlico’s trained customer service team.

3 is 100% owned by Hutchison Whampoa which is one of world's biggest companies with a successful track record in global telecommunications. (Hutchison Whampoa formerly owned Orange.)
