SeaMobile Increases Capabilities for Customer, Expands its Network


SeaMobile Enterprises, a global service provider of connectivity and content services, is increasing its capabilities for customer VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) networks by installing 5IF iDirect (News - Alert) Hub upon its current network infrastructure in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa zone.


 
Sea Mobile in collaboration iDirect and Eutelsat (News - Alert) has deployed a hub in Turin, Italy using the latest iDirect technology, DVB-S2 with ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) and an Evolution X3 Router. This new hub at the Eutelsat Skypark teleport in Turin, allows Geolink Access to access satellites W3A, W6, AB1, AB3, Telstar 12, Eurobird3, Seasat2.
Geolink Access offers a complete IP service including project management, site maintenance, 24/7 support, bandwidth on demand, and value added services such as voice over IP, videoconferencing, and bandwidth dynamic management.
 
“Geolink Access, the IP service provided by SeaMobile Europe, is already a well established brand in Africa and the exciting new iDirect platform will enable their service to be expanded into the Middle East and Central Asian territories,” saod Rash Jahnjee, vice president at EMEA.”
 
The ompany’s VSAT solutions are delivered by Telecommunications Network (MTN (News - Alert)), a division of SeaMobile specializing in the maritime industry. According to the company, more than 450 vessels worldwide, including most cruise ships, government and military vessels, commercial ships, private yachts, offshore drilling and production sites, and ferries depend on company’s voice and data networks to keep people connected.
As a preferred partner with Inmarsat (News - Alert), provider of mobile satellite communications, SeaMobile is able to provide voice and high-speed data services to customers in almost any location on the planet.
 
Inmarsat IV is also in the route to aid SeaMobile, to deliver high-speed broadband capabilities of up to 492 kbps. Beginning January 7, 2009 and ending February 24, 2009, Inmarsat will operate a repositioning of their satellite network and global coverage will be accessible on March 1, 2009.
 
Company’s premier services include remote access for Internet, fixed and mobile phones, fax, television, on-board newspapers, banking services, direct payroll deposit for crew, video transmission, fishing applications, and other enterprise solutions for remote access on land or sea.
