BlackBerry Storm, Entertainment, Information and Communications at Your Fingertips

Verizon Wireless Communications operating a wireless voice and data network that serves 70.8 million customers across the United States will be exclusively offering the BlackBerry (News - Alert) Storm (model 9530) from November 21, 2008 onwards.

The BlackBerry Storm has been developed by Research in Motion, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of wireless solutions for the worldwide mobile communications market. The predecessors to the Storm include the Curve, 8800 Series, Pearl and the 8700 Series.

Being offered at $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement, the Storm incorporates built-in SurePress technology that will make it the first smart phone with the world’s first “clickable” touch screen. The touch screen and the virtual keyboard on the Storm respond much like a physical keyboard.

The touch screen supports single-touch, multi-touch and gestures for intuitive and efficient navigation as well as easy and precise typing. This feature accurately allows you to navigate within every advanced feature that’s packed in the Storm, including a music player, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a full HTML browser.

According to RIM, the Storm is slated to be the perfect choice for both consumers and business users looking for a state-of-the-art multimedia device that makes a statement in the office and out on the town.

The stylish smart phone promises exceptional performance, a stunning display and rich features including 3G network support, Global Positioning System, desktop-style Web pages, advanced multimedia, a first class phone, camera and robust messaging capabilities - designed to give users an incredibly fast and powerful mobile experience.

BlackBerry Storm also comes with the ability to view MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and keep you connected with social networks like Flickr, Facebook (News - Alert) and Mobile IM. Some of the features and the first reactions to the Storm are also available here.
