edgeBOX Enables SMBs to Leverage Remote Worker

As the number of people that work from home or “telework” increases, an Atlanta company is making strides to enhance its enterprise solutions.

VanCost Systems, a provider of enterprise-level technologies to small and medium businesses (SMBs), selected Critical Links’ (News - Alert) edgeBOX product so that it becomes available to VanCost customers who support remote workers, remote offices or telecommuting capabilities.

Critical Links is a provider of unified voice, data and IT solutions for SMBs and its edgeBOX product is a business gateway with advanced features that enable remote access to all voice and data on-site applications. The gateway appliance includes VOIP/IP PBX (News - Alert), VPNs, security, NAC, Qos and Wi-Fi access points, as well as a fax-server, web server, e-mail server, print server and data storage.

“VanCost Systems will be working with Critical Links to deliver its cutting-edge technology to our small to medium-sized business customers providing a remote office/remote worker solution,” said Terry VanWhy, owner of VanCost. “The edgeBOX is a proven, stable, feature rich platform which will give VanCost Systems’ customers an advantage over their competition by increasing employee moral and productivity.”

According to recent research, 4.6 million corporate employees globally will spend at least one day a week teleworking by 2011, and 112 million will work from home at least one day per month. The highest percentage will be U.S. workers.

Teleworking has become more popular in the U.S. due to advances in technology. Earlier this week, it was announced that 82 percent of federal workers spend time outside of the office each month. For more information on that topic, click here.

The voice and data services integration of edgeBOX improves employee productivity, simplifies installation, maintenance and upgrades, and dramatically reduces equipment, communications, and maintenance costs for SMBs. It is available on a range of scalable platforms for companies from 10 to 300 users.

“We are always happy to expand into a new area and look forward to helping VanCost Systems’ customers to build and sustain remote offices that are just as technologically advanced and secure as their company’s primary IT location” said Bob Muhaw, vice president, sales and support, Critical Links.

VanCost specializes in providing SMBs with affordable, cutting-edge technologies and solutions, by helping them find “targeted for their business” technologies and solutions in productivity, collaboration, storage and security. The company’s customers are mainly based in the Atlanta area, where they are headquartered.
