Plantronics Intros New Wideband Headsets

Plantronics has expanded its growing portfolio of unified communications (UC) headsets optimized for Microsoft (News - Alert) office communicator with the new wideband .Audio 630M USB binaural headset and the .Audio 615M USB monaural headset.
Amy Huson, director of UC Product Marketing at Plantronics (News - Alert), said in a statement that as unified communication voice applications become mainstream business users and IT decision makers require the highest quality headsets to ensure a positive experience.
“Developing products that are qualified by Microsoft adds value for our customers who want to experience improved communication and more effective collaboration,” she said.
Using twice the audio bandwidth of conventional telephony to greatly enhance intelligibility, Wideband “enhances intelligibility.” According to the company, the two new headsets offer users a feeling of real “face-to-face” conversations.
Company believes that these two headsets will improve business communication during PC-based audio and video conference calls, and person-to-person calls. These lightweight headsets feature flexible headband, and users can connect to their PC through USB that provides “enhanced” digital audio for consistent sound quality.
Along with providing wideband audio, the .Audio 630M headset enables users to listen to music in stereo, while the .Audio 615M is a wideband headset for users of Microsoft office communicator 2007.
“Because Plantronics' wideband .Audio 615M and .Audio 630M headsets are Optimized for Microsoft Office Communicator, businesses have confidence their employees may use these products for clear voice communications and optimal productivity,” said Moz Hussain, director of product management at Microsoft.
Currently, these headsets can be purchased through authorized Plantronics resellers.

Last week, company introduced the new Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset featuring three advanced noise cancelling technologies. The new Voyager 835 offers Plantronics Dual-Mic AudioIQ, a combination of its proprietary DSP algorithm which optimizes audio levels and fidelity on both sides of a conversation.
