e2Campus chosen by Arizona State University for Better Multimodal Emergency Notifications

Omnilert, a company developing multimodal mass communications devices for sending time-sensitive information to large groups of people, has announced that Arizona State University, King's College and the  University of Toledo have selected e2Campus, an emergency notification network developed by Omnialert for higher education, for improved multimodal emergency communications. The company has also announced a new program, ENS Conversion Service through which the schools can upload their data into e2Campus without paying any extra charges.

e2Campus is a multimodal emergency notification network being used by more than 500 campuses across the nation that helps the school officials in self-administering and sending time-sensitive messages in a cheaper and easier way than the existing notification solutions.

Without the need of installing any software or buying any hardware, any school can set up a secure notification network with the help of e2Campus to send routine, urgent or emergency notifications to their entire campus community or smaller groups. e2Campus instantly sends multimodal alerts to mobile phones through SMS text message, landline phone through voice message, e-mail accounts, and RSS reader to the subscribers.

Paul Moran, executive director of IITS, King's College said that the institute upgraded to e2Campus because it offers a centralized interface to broadcast emergency alerts to the campus PA system, institute's web page, and as SMS text messages, voice calls, RSS feeds, and emails.

Moran noted that e2Campus helps the institute cover all its bases because e2Campus automatically broadcasts to everyone's email address and the PA system whether people have opted-in or not, and the solid reputation of e2Campus makes him feel confident that IITS has made the right choice with the new network.

Arizona State University has also opted for e2Campus stopping the services from another provider. Adrian Sannier, vice president and university technology officer of the ASU commented that e2Campus allows ASU to provide both emergency notifications to its community as well as other messages for a variety of campus services, and this kind of flexibility becomes increasingly important as the population of college communities like ASU become progressively mobile.

Ara Bagdasarian, president of Omnilert,  said that the company has received numerous calls from colleges and universities that want to upgrade to e2Campus, and because Omnialert requires recipients to opt-in to receive alerts, these schools were concerned about going through the collection process again. Bagdasarian noted that the new ENS Conversion Service by the company enables the clients to import data from their existing ENS into e2Campus free of charge.

Omnilert is a company that develops multimodal communication solutions for sending time-sensitive information to large groups of people. The company adopts a web-based system with which a single person can send timely information to thousands of people anywhere, anytime, on any device. It is ideal for announcing school closings, game cancellations, weather warnings, terrorist alerts, and marketing promotions.

The schools can upload data from their existing emergency notification system into e2Campus for free through the ENS conversion service. Subscriber opt-in will not be necessary anymore, and the fee for an e2Campus technical engineer to manage the database uploads will also be discounted by e2Campus.
