Intechra Receives IDC G.R.A.D.E. Certification in Green IT Recycling

Intechra today said that it has achieved IDC's (News - Alert) first certification in Green Recycling and Asset Disposal for the Enterprise (G.R.A.D.E.).
Based on 34 IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) related functions and tasks, the IDC G.R.A.D.E. certification process uses a multi-dimensional weighting system that incorporates the broad offerings of remote applications, onsite services, logistics, in-plant processing, and post treatment.
“Our goal was to clear up confusion in the marketplace by creating an objective system for evaluating and certifying ITAD providers,” said David Daoud, IDC research manager, adding that Intechra stood out as a “top-notch provider” in all categories.
A full service ITAD company, Intechra operates six processing facilities from coast to coast and a national logistics network. Company officials said that Intechra does not have a parent company, and the ITAD is not one of many lines of business.
This independence assures Intechra’s clients of an “unbiased approach” to asset value recovery, along with accessing the expansive remarketing channels and a singular focus on best practices for asset lifecycle management, according to officials.
Intechra is considered to be the only ITAD provider with national logistics capabilities which enable it to manage shipping costs and a chain of custody for clients with multiple locations across the country.
Chip Slack, CEO at Intechra, said that receiving IDC's G.R.A.D.E. certification validates the company’s strategy and the many investments that have been made to build the “best ITAD company possible.”
He added: “This also reinforces to our clients, which include 54 of the Fortune 100 companies, that Intechra is the right choice for managing the lifecycle of their IT assets.”
Slack said several factors, in addition to Intechra's national footprint and logistics services, contributed to its IDC certification.
These factors, he said includes Intechra’s status as a single integrated provider for all services—remanufacturing, remarketing and recycling—the company's commitment to ISO quality certification at all facilities and the comprehensive reporting to clients about the final disposition of all materials.
