DoApp Announces Magic 8 Ball iPhone Application

DoApp has announced the second app being developed by it – the Magic 8 Ball application. This fun and entertaining application will let you shake the iPhone (News - Alert) as you would an actual Magic 8 Ball. This application will use the iPhone’s built-in accelerometer to provide your answer. DoApp develops consumer and business apps that help people have fun, make them more productive, do useful things and on the whole improves their online life.

The application is designed in such a way that you can create and edit your own answers. To use this, just ask the question and then shake your iPhone or iPod Touch. The device will emit a shaking sound on which you have to “turn over” the 8 ball by swiping your finger across it. The answer will now appear magically on the multi-sided, floating blue triangle die. For the die to appear again with a random answer, you have to either give a gentle shake or turn the device face down for a second.

According to Joe Sriver, founder and CEO of DoApp, “There’s nothing like a little divine assistance when making some of those tough decisions. I might even use this to determine raises for my employees next year.”

DoApp Inc. is an internet applications company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The company was founded by an early Google (News - Alert) employee in the year 2007. The company creates widgets and applications for websites, desktops and mobile devices. These provide distributed content and commerce for its consumers. The products from DoApp are designed to increase traffic, improve consumer’s web experience and to help people make money.

According to Wade Beavers, vice president of strategy at DoApp, “The graphics are amazing. When you ‘flip over’ the ball, it doesn’t just show a static die, but one that floats up and bounces off the lens. Now, that’s mystical! It’s a blast to use with friends or colleagues during a meeting - a fun, conversational game for the iPhone.”

The Magic 8 Ball from DoApp will work on both the iPhone and iPod Touch. The same will be available from July 11th, 2008 onwards at the Apple (News - Alert) AppStore.
