IneoQuest Rolls Out New IP Video Monitoring Solutions

IneoQuest (News - Alert) Technologies Inc. has released a new series of video monitoring, analysis and test solutions designed for 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks: The Geminus G2X Base, Geminus G2X Max, Geminus G10 Base, and Geminus G10 Max.

Each system is available in a one or two bay, rack mount form factor. Ineoquest claims it has doubled the processing power of its previous offerings using the same hardware.

The G2X and G10 Base systems offer real time monitoring of up to 1,000 IP video flows, or 128,000 PIDS simultaneously tested, while the G2X and G10 Max systems can handle up to 2,000 IP video flows, or 256,000 PIDS simultaneously tested. Both platforms are MDI (News - Alert) compliant and support the MPEG2, MPEG4 Part 2, MPEG4 Part 10 /H.264, H263, H261, DC II, VC1 and WinMedia 9 codecs. Both are manageable via the IneoQuest Video Management System (iVMS).

There¹s also a scaled down version of the G2X, the Geminus G1, a 1 Gig per bay/dual bay unit supporting up to 500 video flows or 3,000 PIDs simultaneously tested. Each can be upgraded with an on-site visit from a technician.

³Our new Geminus platforms offer video content and service providers a seamless and affordable migration path allowing them to upgrade their bandwidth needs to meet future requirements,² said Calvin Harrison, VP of marketing for IneoQuest, in a press release. ³With Geminus G2X or Geminus G10 in their video monitoring arsenal, video providers can ensure their investment will continue to provide exceptional long-term value.²

The news comes just one day after IneoQuest introduced IQDialogue Desktop Edition, a PC-based software application that analyzes, monitors and troubleshoots Switched Digital Video (SDV) networks for cable operators.

With this tool, cable technicians can identify the various SDV protocols in a comprehensive and familiar Web-based format and get detailed information about the SDV service delivery platform. This enables them quickly identify, and respond to, faults in service delivery.

³The increased bandwidth efficiency provided by SDV enables the network operator to provide additional Video On Demand (VOD) and HDTV channels, increased channel capacity and improved viewer experience with a significant increase in network and video delivery performance², said Gino Dion, VP of Strategic Solutions for IneoQuest Technologies, in a press release. ³IQDialogue is the only application available to cable operators for independently testing the SDV network and its various components prior to deployment, as well as the implementation of a true, end-to-end quality and service assurance solution to provide the capability to monitor, analyze, fault isolate and troubleshoot a switched digital video network.

IQDialogue also allows service operators to emulate thousands of SDV clients on their system, performing various tasks such as channel changes, bootup, etc. With several North-American MSOs and equipment manufacturers already using and deploying IQDialogue SDV, we look forward to enhancing the platform as our customer¹s SDV needs and deployments grow.²
