AT&T Selects HyperOffice for Mobile Software Award

HyperOffice (News - Alert) took the third-place award for “Best New Small-Medium Business Application,” in AT&T’s third-annual Fast-Pitch Contest for Enterprise Solutions.

The contest spotlighted mobile collaboration tools added by HyperOffice that make it possible for users of smartphones, including the iPhone (News - Alert), to access corporate e-mail and share contacts, calendars, task and notes.

“Fast Pitch continues to be a very successful program in helping us to find new and innovative wireless applications,” said Mark Collins, vice president of consumer data, AT&T’s (News - Alert) wireless unit. “We extend our congratulations to all the winners and thanks to this year’s participants.”

HyperOffice is award-winning software as a service that makes it easier for owners, employees, clients, partners and suppliers of growing businesses to collaborate, communicate, plan projects, share and edit online documents, schedule meetings, and manage information anytime and from any Internet connection, according to the company.

The web-based software delivers to growing organizations the power and productivity of collaboration software that only the largest company with a mammoth IT budget could otherwise afford – business-class e-mail without spam and viruses; document management with online file storage, versioning, user rights and workflow; contact management, scheduling, task management, discussion groups, security, backup, portal customization, customer portals, extranets and intranets and time and expense tracking.

The software operates as an alternative to Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange, the corporate messaging platform that the iPhone does not support. HyperOffice synchronizes the iPhone e-mail client with Microsoft Outlook, giving business users wireless access to secure corporate messaging and collaboration services from work, from home, and while traveling.

“This opens the iPhone – or any smartphone – to business,” said Shahab Kaviani, vice president of marketing and sales at HyperOffice. “We are creating a new market for AT&T, and we look forward to introducing HyperOffice to the business users who are looking for an alternative to Microsoft Exchange so they can keep Microsoft Outlook and continue working with employees, clients, partners and suppliers without the hassles of Exchange.”

The panel of judges picked HyperOffice in the category, “Best New Small-Medium Business (SMB) Targeted Application,” after evaluating hundreds of applications from mobile software developers.

Fast-pitch allows developers to meet with AT&T officials in person to discuss their applications for consideration for placement on AT&T’s wireless network.

HyperOffice is a provider of online software and collaboration tools for growing organizations. The company offers a simple and affordable suite of Intranet and Extranet software that provide new and growing businesses essential tools to collaborate, communicate and manage information from any browser running on any platform.
