Moose Logic offers DataCore Software and Citrix XenServer Solutions

DataCore Software providing storage virtualization SAN software announced that Moose Logic will be delivering DataCore storage virtualization solutions to their markets in the northwestern part of the U.S. Moose Logic will be offering DataCore’s SAN storage virtualization, disaster recovery, data protection solutions and the new SANmelody based VM Starter SAN and Storage Virtualization Solutions.

DataCore’s selection of Moose Logic will enable the latter to meet client demand for virtualization solutions and also complement its offerings like the Citrix XenServer. Moose Logic has gained four new Citrix and DataCore virtualization customers including Sherron Associates, Inc., Douglas County, Digital Control and Integra Pacific Mortgage as a result of its DataCore partnership.

Gayle Spencer, network administrator at Sherron Associates, a property management firm said, “Without the Citrix XenServer and DataCore combination, we would not have been able to afford to consolidate our servers and install a SAN to protect our storage.

Spencer further clarified that any other solution would have been more expensive and would not have extended the cost savings benefits of virtualization to both servers and storage. Replacing the old servers would also have become very expensive said Spencer.

Scott Gorcester, founder of Moose Logic remarked that DataCore and Citrix XenServer help customers who are going virtual and customers get it immediately when they see it in action. He emphasized that the addition of four new customers in the very first month of the partnership is proof enough.

Gorcester continued, “The DataCore partnership will help us extend the scope of what we offer in terms of virtual infrastructure to our Citrix XenServer clients as well as to our entire base of clients and prospects. Strategically, I see DataCore accelerating our server virtualization sales cycles as well as becoming the storage virtualization vendor on which we can build our Citrix XenServer practice into a ‘Total Enterprise Virtualization’ practice.”

DataCore storage virtualization allows improved storage utilization cost effectively with storage control and data protection which are fit for large enterprises. DataCore technology enables customers utilize Centrix XenServer and other storage dependent virtualization solutions optimally as physical storage is not required.

DataCore products have several advantages which make this possible as they are portable, software-based solutions that run on standard Intel (News - Alert) or AMD hardware servers, blades or on Virtual Machines like VMware, Citrix XenServer, Oracle VM, Sun VM, besides others. The DataCore storage virtualization solutions can be installed in minutes on any standard Windows server. They can offer storage to Windows, MacOS, Linux, UNIX, Solaris, AIX, and Netware servers both physically and virtually.

Carlos M. Carreras, vice president of sales and business development at DataCore Software said, “DataCore provides resellers and system integrators with cost-effective and affordable SAN and iSCSI solutions that do for storage what Citrix XenServers do for servers.”

Commenting on the partnership with Moose Logic he said, “Moose Logic and its large and loyal base of clients understand that the movement to virtualization goes beyond server virtualization. Partnering with an organization that has already made a strategic commitment to virtualization through its longstanding relationship to Citrix is very advantageous.”
