eComm Conference 2008 Titled "The Trillion Dollar Industry Rethink"


Organizers of the Emerging Communications (eComm) Conference 2008 which is to take place next month said that the chief subject for discussion at the conference will be Wireless Communication Industry and innovations in this field.



Lee S. Dryburgh, conference organizer and chair announced that the eComm 2008 will be held at the Computer History Museum, Silicon Valley from 12th March to the 14th. He noted that the conference will be the place to be in to know more about the future of the telecommunications industry.

He further added that the change in the wireless communication industry is comparable to a tsunami and this has instigated the organizers to actually name the event “The Trillion Dollar Industry Rethink”.

eComm will expose thoughts of visionaries, new technologies, start ups, academic projects, views of telecom company heads besides encouraging required policy debates.

It is expected that the world’s leading thinkers in telecommunication and wireless technology will attend the conference and the discussion will revolve around the global telecom market as the mobile has become the latest platform for innovation.

The distinguished speakers include Rich Miner, the group manager of mobile platforms at Google, General manager of the audio and video division at Skype (News - Alert), Jonathan Christensen,  Brough Turner, chief technical officer and senior vice president at NMS Communications, Benoit Schillings, CTO at Trolltech (Nokia (News - Alert)) and Christopher Allen, founder of a iPhone developer-support community.

Commenting on the present trend regarding the mobile market, Dryburgh, said, “I wouldn’t be surprised to see an iPhone (News - Alert) SDK, J2ME, Skype and Android battling to take center stage. It’s for certain that eComm 2008 is the first telecom conference focusing on the democratization of telecoms innovation and we’ve attracted the best people on the planet.”
