By Shamila Janakiraman TMCnet Contributing Editor
Yakety Yak Wireless, Inc., a wireless franchise, has announced it was selected among Entrepreneur magazine’s annual “Franchise 500” list and is ranked at 470.
David Timlin, CEO of Yakety Yak commented in a press release, “The Entrepreneur ‘Franchise 500’ list is the premier ranking of all the franchises in the country and we are very pleased that we were recognized as one of the best.”
“The wireless industry is constantly changing, and with the current shift by some carriers to open their networks to any mobile phone or device I believe we will see a significant positive impact on the consumer and the way we conduct business in the wireless arena. Our franchisees, as vested store owners, understand these market trends and opportunities and consult with each customer so they can recommend the plan and phone that best fits their needs,” he continued.
Yakety Yak wireless superstores sell a range of cell phones as well as offer calling plans and other wireless accessories. Further the “Yak Swap” program offers the convenience of recycling used cell phones for consumers as well as provides store credit when customers buy another phone or accessory.
Commenting on Yakety Yak’s USP Timlin said, “What sets Yakety Yak apart is the training we offer our franchisees to create a professional, relaxed, consultative selling environment in their stores. Rather than being limited to a single product or service, Yakety Yak customers have the opportunity to choose what will work best for the way they use their cell phone, be it for making local or long-distance calls, sending text messages, taking pictures, sending emails or surfing the Internet.”
Yakety Yak’s franchisees have to attend a training program which includes classes conducted in the corporate headquarters besides in-store training. Distance learning methods and monthly conference calls with corporate executives further enrich the training program.
