Credo Media Group Offers Help to Internet Defamation Victims

Credo Media Group (News - Alert), a Florida-based public relations firm, has come forward to help Internet defamation victims by offering online reputation repair services to fight online libel. Online defamation is becoming a major issue not only for many individuals but also to many companies and organizations.

Gary Greaves (News - Alert), president of Credo Media Group, a specialty PR, media relations and Internet marketing company, said in a press release: "Internet defamation is a widespread problem that can have devastating economic consequences for companies.” He added that Credo’s new “reputation repair service” is designed to improve the online image of victims and to offset harmful information.

Credo Media Group's reputation repair campaigns are specifically designed by applying unique and proprietary methods, to remove defamatory information from the top spots of search engine results.

Online defamation can appear anywhere from message boards to online complaint sites, commonly referred to as cyber smear, which can destroy a company's reputation and finances in the process.

Legal action is an option. But, Section 230(c)(1) of the Communications Decency Act provides protection to site owners and Internet service providers, which can force victims to sue individual posters who often remain anonymous and  most of the times unmasking these can be a difficult and expensive process.

Gary Greaves, president of Credo Media Group has warned about the consequences when a defamation case is fought in a wrong way. He added that directly responding to negative posts and attempting to refute information will often backfire. He also said "You will only create more content for the search engines to index, resulting in a higher position for the unwanted information."

For many companies Internet Defamation has become a widespread problem. Credo Media Group is primarily known for its traditional public relations efforts and is getting more demands for new reputation repair services from more and more companies day by day.

Gary Greaves, president of Credo Media Group, said the new service is a great solution for those who are experiencing the nightmare of online defamation. He added that Credo has already made a huge impact for some clients with its new service.

Credo Media Group is a specialty Public Relations and marketing firm which is focused on high impact campaigns.
