Firefly Mobile and Avanquest Debut flyKicks Software

Firefly Mobile and Avanquest have jointly announced the debut of flyKicks software for the new Firefly Mobile flyPhone. Offered free with the flyPhone, the flyKicks software allows users unprecedented ability to customize and personalize their phones by giving them the ability to create their own unique ring tones, wall papers, and slide shows — and to share them with others.

As a customized version of Avanquest’s popular Mobile PhoneTools software, flyKicks provides unsurpassed customization and entertainment options for “tween” users of the flyPhone. The companies explain that flyKicks is also the portal to the flyStore, which boasts a broad array of downloads for purchase, including games, music, ring tones, wallpapers, and videos from content suppliers parents trust.

David Wright, president of Denver-based Avanquest’s OEM Division, said they are thrilled to be entering a new market. He points out that Firefly Mobile’s proven strength in mobile solutions for kids and tweens, coupled with Avanquest’s innovative technology, synchronize very well and allows them to reach an underserved segment of the market.

“Avanquest has developed powerful and highly intuitive tools that let tweens create personalized content for their phone,” said Patrick Marry, CEO of Firefly Mobile in a statement. “We are thrilled to be able to bring these innovative and industry leading capabilities to our MVNO subscribers through our flyPhone.”

The flyPhone is reportedly designed with an electro-luminescent keypad. This patent pending keypad automatically morphs into a game controller, MP3 and video controller, or full numbered keypad, based on the flyPhone feature being used. The companies believe that the sleek, lightweight handset design will appeal to technology minded and fashion savvy tweens.
