I would like to speak about the OpenBTS project. The OpenBTS Project is an effort to construct an open-source Unix application that uses the Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) to present a GSM air interface ("Um") to standard GSM handset and uses the Asterisk software PBX to connect calls. The combination of the ubiquitous GSM air interface with VoIP backhaul could form the basis of a new type of cellular network that could be deployed and operated at substantially lower cost than existing technologies in many applications. Working from a home office for the past 12 years Michael has explored various aspects of VoIP for SOHO applications. Eric Todd's background is as a networking engineer. Since coming to NETXUSA 7 years ago, he served as a Support Engineer, Project Manager and now CTO. Today he works closely with the NETXUSA development team and supervising the technical support team. Prior to Loquendo, Piergiorgio was at Ericsson for 9 years in three different countries: Italy, Sweden and Switzerland. His experience embraces technical as well as marketing and sales activities in both wireline (ATM/IP) and wireless (GSM, GPRS and UMTS) technologies. He covered several executive positions and has been in constant contact with customers worldwide. Terry Wilson Terry Wilson, Digium

Before taking a position with Digium, Terry Wilson designed the Asterisk-based backend for a large ITSP—handling 10s of thousands of users. He had also designed and installed a Hotel Property Management System integration product for Asterisk. Since taking a development position with Digium, he has been responsible for work on projects such as phone provisioning, licensing, and most recently Skype for Asterisk. Over the last year, when he could find the time, he has worked on creating Calendaring for Asterisk, which includes modules for iCalendar, CalDAV, and Microsoft Echange-based calendars.
