Send Technology Email Encryption Site Garners TRUSTe Certification

Send Technology, Inc., a provider of advanced email messaging and
collaboration tools, announced that it has received TRUSTe
certification for Send., a free, web-based email encryption service.
Designed to provide a secure email solution for businesses and
individuals, Send. is a web-based service that enables anyone with a
personal computer and an Internet browser to send secure email messages
and attachments without additional hardware or software.
The company said the recently launched site now displays the TRUSTe
Privacy Seal, which further demonstrates its commitment to protecting
the privacy of its users, including businesses located in the states
that have adopted heightened consumer privacy laws. TRUSTe is a privacy
certification and seal program, awarding its privacy seal only to
companies that complete a rigorous review process and agree to comply
with ongoing oversight.

signal that it is trustworthy and respects the privacy wishes of the
people who visit SendInc.com," said Fran Maier, executive director and
president of TRUSTe. "The company joins more than 2,000 organizations

The seal indicates that Send. has posted a privacy statement and that
its information gathering and dissemination practices follow guidelines
for notice, choice, access, security and redress outlined in the
Federal Trade Commission's Fair Information Practices.
According to Daniel Stevens, chief executive officer of Send
Technology, earning TRUSTe certification enhances the site's
credibility for consumer privacy protection - an essential milestone
for a messaging security service such as Send.
"The TRUSTe seal tells our users that Send. offers a truly secure means
of exchanging email messages and attachments," said Stevens. "This
designation is highly significant for small- to mid-size businesses
that are increasingly recognizing the importance of using encrypted
